Regulations
All vessels using the city docks must register upon arrival with the City of Savannah Mobility & Parking Services Department. Please call (912) 651-3634, Mon-Fri, 8am to 5pm. After 5pm, weekends and holidays please send an email to citydocks@savannahga.gov. Whether you are calling or emailing please include your first & last name, daytime phone number, name of the vessel, length of the vessel and length of stay. Maximum overnight stay 2 nights.
Failure to register/pay is considered theft of services and may result in a citation being issued and/or the vessel being towed at the owners expense. To retrieve your vessel contact TowBoatUS Savannah at (912) 704-2984.
Reservations are not accepted for Eastern Wharf Recreational Docks (800ft floating docks).
Use of docking facilities is at the discretion of the City of Savannah and may be denied or terminated at any time.
Grilling, hanging or storing personal items on the docks and/or Riverwalk is prohibited.
No "Rafting-up or Tying Up”. If there is not ample space for all vessels in your group, only those who are properly docked may remain. Vessels are not allowed to tie up to one another.
The owner/operator shall be fully responsible for his/her vessel and guests.
Boat toilets shall not be used while the boat is docked unless the boat is equipped with an operating holding tank, so no effluents are discharged into the Savannah River. Any vessel docking at the facility shall comply with the Federal Marine Sanitation Device Regulations as currently applicable to such vessel.
All refuse must be securely bagged and disposed of in the trash receptacle located in the adjacent parking lot or the trash receptacle located on the plaza.
There shall be no fueling of any vessel from land except pursuant to permit from Mobility & Parking Services Dockmaster which shall specify the place, date, and time for the performance of such activity as well as any other requirements which may be set forth in such permit.
All vessels using the Recreational Docks at Eastern Wharf will be governed by Savannah Port Authority Regulations for the Port District of Savannah.
Docking Fees
Rates are based on extreme vessel length and will be computed per 24-hour period.
On the first day, the first three hours are free.
Pleasure Craft - $1.50 per linear foot per day.
Docking Fees are paid on-line; instructions will be sent to your email address. Please keep a copy of your receipt. You may be approached by the Dockmaster, City Marshal, Chatham County Marine Patrol or Savannah Police Department for confirmation of payment.
Disclaimer
The City of Savannah will not be liable for any accident, injury, or property damage that occurs during the mooring of a vessel on the recreational docks unless any such accident, injury, or property damage was caused solely by the City’s gross negligence or intentional misconduct. By docking a vessel, the operator and any/all passenger(s) of the vessel hereby agree to defend, hold harmless, and indemnify the City of Savannah from any and all claims and/or causes of action, however styled, arising from use of the property. Vessel owners and operators hereby waive any and all claims and/or causes of action against the City of Savannah, however styled, for use of the recreational docks.
